Tights are a versatile and ubiquitous piece of leg wear to be found in most women’s chest of drawers.

Here at Stripey Tights we are wondering what the best way to recycle those old tights is?

Recycling Old Tights

The annoying thing about tights is that they can be quite fragile and therefore they have a limited life span.  Of course some pairs last longer than others, a good quality opaque pair of tights can survive for years, a light weight pair of nylons can get laddered on their first outing and dumped before you even get home!

I’m sure I’m not the only one who frequently puts a nail right through my tights as I pull them up over my legs.

But when you start to add up all the different pairs that we all wear every day there is clearly a lot of nylon going to waste.

Here are some Recycling Ideas

Here are a few of our thoughts on what to do with hosiery that no longer fits or has been slightly damaged:

• Emergency fan belt: If you brake down and need an emergency replacement whipping off your tights might be the perfect solutions.
• Arm Warmers: Re-fashion the arms of an old pair of wool tights into a practical winter accessory.
• In the Garden: Use to protect plants and vegetable patches. Stretch them over the area that needs to be protected.

• Anything silly or fun

Essentially anything that features striped legs is welcome, and that can be vertical, horizontal, multiple hoops or just a single stripe.  The photo can be of your toes, legs, and even the occasional bum is welcome.

They can be on your legs or discarded on the floor, and someone has already shared their gusset with us – thanks for that! So we’re not fussy!

Cheryl Cole has performed her new single live on the X Factor and it’s not only the music that has stirred up a new talking point.

No, apparently Cheryl Cole’s stripey tights are now the must have hosiery item of recent times! Just goes to show the power that the modern day celebrity has in influencing our fashion choices!

If you didn’t see the episode, Cheryl looked stunning as usual as she performed her brand new single live on the show. She was sporting a gorgeous pair of stripey tights – already branded as “those bondage tights” by certain sections of the media.

The big question is of course, where can I get a pair of these tights?

Where Can I Buy Cheryl Cole Bandage Tights?

Well there’s some good news and some bad news! The good news is that they have been spotted in London department store Selfridges, the bad news is that they reportedly sold out soon after the X Factor aired!

We’d love to hear from anyone else who has found somewhere to buy these tights. Please let us know if you’ve seen them online or know of any store that has them in stock.

I’ll be keeping an eye out myself, I would love to purchase a pair – they’re going to look lush on anyone’s legs.

Well here at Striped Tights we like to be pretty open minded so here are some top reasons why men might be wearing a pair of tights sooner rather than later!
